Meet The Team

DanielleDanielle Cherewyk Owner, Redken Certified Colourist & Master Stylist

Passion has been the fuel behind Danielle’s career. Born and raised in the salon industry by her mother, Karen Lefley.  Danielle has always aspired to open her own salon. “My vision for The Headroom was to create an exciting atmosphere that still allowed for relaxation; a place where both clients and staff would feel comfortable. Danielle’s passion for the art of hairstyling and dedication to her career shines throughout The Headroom.

After joining Redken as a certified educator in 2009, Danielle’s career evolved into something different, sharing her passion with fellow stylists and cosmologists became an unexpected love. Redken’s motto Learn Better, Live Better hit a chord with Danielle and became a standard she brought into The Headroom. She has made it a priority to invest in education for the cosmetologists at the salon and knows through ongoing education our team can provide the best experiences for our guests, and truly love their careers as Danielle does.

In 2011 Danielle became Redken Colour Certified, a title not easily attained. “Colour Certification was designed to recognize and reward top colourists. Our accreditation process assesses their technical skills, knowledge of haircolor products and principles and their approach to color formulation, application and colour correction. An individual that becomes certified will excel in the area of haircolour and provide top notch service to their clients,” explains Christine Schuster, senior vice president of education for Redken.

Initially working in a salon as a receptionist, it didn’t take Lisa long to fall in love with the art of hairstyling and esthetics. Inspired to go further in the industry, she went on to graduate from the Alberta Academy of Esthetics in 1994 and proceeded to attend many other courses including advanced facial training, pedicures, and body sugaring. Feeling that she could broaden her horizons even more, she began an in-salon hair styling apprenticeship in 1999 and took a number of skill-building classes in cutting and coloring. Lisa was a make-up artist for Clairol in Allied Beauty Association shows for several years in the past and is eager to showcase her hair styling capabilities in upcoming trade shows and competitions.
